Cartmel Priory – Travellers, having just crossed the Morecambe Bay Sands for the first time would have gazed in awe at the sight of Cartmel Priory. It nestles in the shelter of the wooded valley below.
The first view in the tweltfth century would have been different from that of today. The three Bay Nave was not yet built but the domestic buildings on the south side would have been a welcome sight for travellers. The founding Marshal family were very much in evidence. By the late thirteenth century the estate had passed into the hands of the Harrington family.
You’re welcome to marry in church whatever your beliefs. Whether or not you have been Christened and whether or not you regularly go to church. It may be possible to marry in The Priory Church even if you do not live locally.

Really nice set of images. Love the tones.
Beautiful, romantic pictures of a beautiful wedding – love how nature is so present in their portraits near the venue 🙂
Excellent storytelling in this set of images – little moments of emotion (I love when she holds back a tear at the altar) to some very fun reception shots!
