Megan’s mum wanted to capture her little girl before she became a fully fledged teenager. Meg wasn’t sure about the whole idea but she soon relaxed and was a star! Here are a few portraits of lovely Megan.

School Knott is a gentle walk; from the top you can look down on Windermere town and lake, and across to the Langdale Pikes. The word Knott is of Cumbric origin and means ‘hill’. On the way up is a nice little tarn called, you guessed it, School Knott tarn.

Thomas…..you have such a talent which you display so artistically and with your usual modesty. You do have the ability to capture the essence of a person. It has been a pleasure to see some of your work….are all your subjects required to be beautiful or do they just become so?Bob and I thank you for these delightfully captured moments of the Family Thomas…..imagine how young Master Thomas will look! With the due day being tomorrow ,we wait excitedly…..camera to the ready!Thank you.ReplyCancel

Finley relishing the ritual of having his hair cut. The sensation of little hairs tickling your nose never was great, was it!

Little five month old Jasmine was sooo good for these photographs. She is a happy soul, bright as a button and very talkative, just like her mum! When she wasn’t fascinated by the camera or smiling at mum, she was watching the birdies out of the window.

While virtually the whole of the rest of the British Isles was under about a foot of snow (or more), we had roughly a centimetre here in sunny Cumbria. Still, the ground was white and the low sun looked lovely so we took the opportunity…

Snow at last, and plenty of it! Snowballs, lots of snowmen including a snowgiant, super-fast sledging, fun, fun, fun… until its been around for weeks and we’re sick of it!

Staveley is a great little village near Kendal in the Lake District. Its the start of the beautiful Kentmere valley; just follow signs for Kentmere village following the River Kent as it winds along the valley. If you’re ever there, make sure you visit Staveley Mill Yard, home of Wilf’s Cafe, Hawkshead Brewery, Wheelbase bike shop and More Bakery amongst other fine, tasty local businesses.
